The Board of the Australian Privacy Foundation (APF) met with its new Patrons in Sydney on Monday 20 August, and prepared plans for new initiatives during the coming year.
This coincided with the 25th Anniversary of APF’s establishment.
Major new policy contributions this month have been on the following topics:
- the Privacy Amendment Bill, 4 large documents, plus invited evidence at the 1-day Committee hearing
- the National Security Wishlist, 1 large document so far
APF is continuing the expansion of its Advisory Panel, and announces the following additional members:
- Mary Kostakidis – media executive and social justice campaigner
- Geoff Huston – pioneer of the Australian Internet
- Dr Mary O’Kane – NSW Chief Scientist
- Dr Anna Funder – author of major books on state surveillance themes
